Chitukuko Foundation held various meetings with our implementing partners. The purpose of the meeting was to review the work plan and activities being implemented. Further, the meetings were to support partners in developing a clear vision, mission, and objectives
Interface with Mnema and Tiunike CBOs in TAs Khombedza and Makanjira in Salima-above. The discussion found out that the areas are mostly affected by floods hence making the area food insecure. Performance of children in schools is very poor and a lot of children especially girls get married before completing their primary school education. Early childhood care and education is also a challenge due to inadequate support programmes for children during their infancy stage.
Interface with Moyowabwino CBO unveiled multiple challenges in the area such as food insecurity, low education levels, HIV and AIDS. During the 2024 primary school leaving certificate education, TA Chisamba where this CBO operates had the poorest results amongst all the Traditional Authorities in Salima
Meeting with NDINDI CBO and Tiyendepamodzi women forum. Discussion centered on key issues affecting women and children. School dropout, gender-based violence and low participation of children in child care centres (ECD) were key challenges faced in the area.
